What is Crisis Care vs. Emergency Care?
Crisis care focuses on providing immediate support for individuals experiencing severe mental or emotional distress, while emergency care addresses urgent physical health conditions that require immediate medical attention.
Behavioral Health Home
Behavioral Health Home
This healthcare approach focuses on the whole person, bringing together primary care, mental health services, and other health and community support. It helps guide and coordinate care for people with serious and ongoing health conditions, making sure they get the right support and services across the healthcare system.
Clubhouse Rehabilitation Program
Clubhouse Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program
A Clubhouse is a community program that supports people living with mental illness. The people who attend are called members, and they help choose what activities and goals they want to work on. Clubhouses are welcoming places where members can build friendships, learn new skills, and take part in meaningful work. This helps members grow in confidence, gain independence, and feel more connected to their community.
Community Living Supports (CLS)
Community Living Supports (CLS) Services
Community Living Supports (CLS) are services that help people become more independent and reach their full potential. These services are designed to help adults take part in their community and meet personal goals like being more self-sufficient, productive, or included. These goals are based on a plan made just for the individual during person-centered planning.
Drop-In Center
Drop-In Center
Drop-In Centers are relaxed, welcoming spaces where adults can stop in for support, conversation, and community. The centers are run by peers who have lived experience and understand the recovery journey, creating a place where people feel comfortable, supported, and not alone.
Intensive Crisis Stabilization
Intensive Crisis Stabilization Services
Intensive/Crisis Stabilization Services are short-term treatments and support provided by our team of Hiawatha Behavioral Health professionals. These services are designed to help people avoid going into the hospital or to help them stay in the hospital for a shorter time if needed.
Outpatient Support
Outpatient Services
Outpatient services are available for people who have mental health issues, emotional challenges, or both mental health and substance use problems. During the assessment, we may find that some people need more help than what outpatient services can provide. We will assist at that time with additional support and recommendations.
Peer-Delivered Support
Peer-Delivered or Peer-Operated Support Services
Peer Delivered Services are provided by people who understand what it’s like to face mental health challenges. They work together with individuals to build confidence, increase independence, and become more involved in the community.
Psychiatric Support
Psychiatric Services
We offer psychiatric services and assessments to better understand your mental health needs. Our team will also review your medications to make sure they’re working well and are the right fit for you. Plus, we provide supportive nursing services to help you manage your health and feel supported during your treatment.
Skill Building Services
Skill Building Services
Skill Building helps individuals learn skills that make everyday life more successful and independent. This may include help with school, work, volunteering, money management, and daily living skills.
Supported/Integrated Employment
Supported/Integrated Employment
Supported Employment helps people find and keep paid jobs in the community with the support they need. This includes ongoing assistance to make sure they’re successful in their work and feel confident in their role.
Targeted Case Management
Targeted Case Management
We help people get the basic things they need, like housing (whether they live independently or with support), transportation, medical care, disability income, education, and job training or employment program support.
